The now-annual Lagunitas Beer Circus took place Sunday, May
22, 2011, at the Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma, California.
Hundreds turned out for this, um, unusual beer happening.
Billed as fun “Under the Big Top,” the event included
several burlesque acts by Bombshell Betty, Fromagique and the
Burlesqueteers; Fling All Star Burlesque; Vau de Vire Society;
Fou Fou Ha!; Molotov Malcontent and the Sideshow Sirens; and
more! Colorful was a term often used for the various activities.
Beer and boobies was another expression commonly employed.
Yes, there was beer too! Anchor, Moylan’s, Marin, Russian
River, Dempsey’s, Moonlight and, of course, Lagunitas
Brewing Company all offered up stellar beers on draught.
This circus was not for the kids, nor was it for the squeamish.
There was blood, an occasional ice pick in the nose, money stapled
to flesh — those sorts of things. Your average Beer Circus.
